5.10 Date style option

 You can specify one of two date style options by clicking one of the radiobuttons from the ``Configure/Date style'' menu as shown in figure 5.22.

The two choices are described below:

US format
displays the date in the month/day/year format. For example, ``January 28, 1996'' would be displayed as ``01/28/96''.
European format
displays the date in the day/month/year format. For example, ``January 28, 1996'' would be displayed as ``28/01/96''.


Note, the ``Date style'' option is available only in ``Search mode''. So, you must go to ``Search mode'' in order to change the date style. The ``Date style'' option remains stippled in modes other than ``Search mode''.

The environment variable shown in figure 5.23 tells Qddb how to format your dates.

The environment variable overrides the compiled default(you can set the compiled default during Qddb installation). The user's selection overrides the environment variable setting.
